Tracking the every day minutiae during the worldwide adventure of keen gamer, traveller and bar tender : Simon VanderHeyden

My name is Simon VanderHeyden. I’m just like any other 27 year old guy. I play too many games, drink too much booze and listen to way too much music. I grew up in Perth, Western Australia but the city that keeps calling me back is Sydney.

My skills that pay the bills are Graphic Design, Bar tending and, up until recently, Application Development. I enjoy writing, photography and travel. I think it goes without saying that I am an avid gamer. I have enjoyed video gaming from a when I was little. I rocked oldschool PC games on an Amstrad and busted out a few RSI inducing hours on my NES. Since then I have owned the almighty N64, Gameboys, PS1′s, 2′s and 3′s, a PSP, an original Xbox and its rocking son: the 360. I would say I am a Xbox fan, even with it giving me the RROD twice I keep going back. I still haven’t bought a Wii as it is a little too casual for my liking, and I can always play it at at mates place if I feel the urge to tool about in Wii Sports.

In my next life I hope to be something worry free, like a jellyfish, or leaf floating on the breeze. Just floating around, seeing where the universe will take me.

Social Profile

It seems that nowadays one can’t get away from having some form of Social profile on the interwebs. Let’s see how you can hook up with little old me. Wanna add me as a facebook friend? Check out my profile. Interested in getting a feed on even the most minute of minutiae occurring on my odyssey? Why not follow me on twitter? To check out what I’ve been listening to lately you can hit me up on my last.fm profile. Those who want to see if they can best me online, check out my Xbox Live profile. My GamerTag is xRiOT. If you’re keen send me a friend request and we can go toe to toe? For those using the poor imitation of a gaming network, Playstation Network why not add me as a friend on there too, where my PSN Id is agamersodyssey. To see my photos both from this Odyssey and those before it check out my flickr account. Finally, to find all the videos featured on www.agamersodyssey.com you can check my youtube channel.

Well, MR 127%, good to see that your travels are going well. We miss you like hell at the mighty Charles Hotel back home in North Perth. A Warning to others. This man is of good character, but do not let that fool you, he loves a good joke and is worth spending some time with.
Best wishes on the future travel mate.
